ALMM & DCR
The Approved List of Models and Manufacturers, and Domestic Content Requirement — the Indian rules governing which modules may be used on which projects.
What they do
ALMM restricts eligible modules on government-supported and many utility projects to listed manufacturers. DCR goes further, requiring both cells and modules to be made in India, and applies to specific subsidy and scheme-linked projects.
Why it affects your price
ALMM and DCR modules carry a premium over imported product. If your project is not scheme-linked you may not need either — paying the premium unnecessarily is a common and expensive error. We confirm the applicable requirement before procurement, in writing.
