2 MWp Solar Carport — Educational Campus
Maharashtra, India · Educational Institutions
Overview
A 2 MWp carport array across campus parking, generating power while shading 420 vehicles, under a net metering arrangement.
The challenge
Campus roof area was fragmented and partly shaded by mature trees that the institution was unwilling to remove, leaving parking as the only viable uninterrupted area — but a carport structure carries far higher wind load than a rooftop frame.
What we did
The carport was engineered to IS 875 Part 3 for the local wind zone with galvanised steel fabricated in-house to 80 micron coating, on a clear span that keeps parking bays usable. Generation offsets campus daytime load almost entirely during term time.
